Driver

This is a post funded by the Hertfordshire County Council Adult Care Services as part of our luncheon club & Meals on Wheels services and activities for which the provision of Transport for our elderly and disabled members to and from their residences to our luncheon club sites remains a very important element. The post is subject to continuation of funding from Adult Care Services, Hertfordshire County Council.

The purpose of the job is to support the Watford Asian Community Care (WACC) Executive Committee, the Luncheon Club co-ordinator and the Manager in delivering the aims of the organisation through the provision of driving duties and associated administrative support.

Details: Duties include arranging for the collection and return of the mini bus carrier in liaison with the club coordinator and supporting with the delivery of packaged meals to the elderly, maintaining the food quality standards, assisting with setting up and storing equipments and helping service users to maintain their self-respect and dignity. A full clean driving licence is required for this post.

Hours:  Variable hours based on work per luncheon club session. The position of Driver is initially for 21 hours per week, which may extend to approximately 32 hours per week as we remain engaged in expanding our activities, and may involve occasional working in the evening and weekends
