At Watford Asian community Care we work in partnership with Carers in Hertfordshire in developing carer support services for Asian carers who look after someone who may be simply old, disabled or suffering poor mental health.
Our service operates in the Watford, Three Rivers and Hertsmere area.
Who is a Carer?
We know that most Care in the Asian Community is given by members of the immediate family and /or friends as part of their duties. If you look after someone with an illness, disability or suffering poor mental health whether that person is:
- Young or elderly
- A relative, partner, child or neighbour
- Lives with you or not
Then YOU ARE A CARER
Caring can be rewarding and satisfying. But it can also be tiring, stressful and an isolating experience.
Who fits in the criteria to receive Carer Support Services of WACC
- Does anyone depend on you?
- Are you a carer?
- Does anyone you care for suffer poor mental health or physical disability?
- Do you provide care for a partner, parent, relative or friend?
- Has your life changed with the responsibility of caring?
- Do you see fewer people?
- Are you rarely able to go out?
- Do you feel life could have more to offer?
- Are you always tired?
If you can answer yes to any of the above, please contact our Carer Support worker.
