About Us

Watford Asian Commmunity Care (WACC) was developed from a Community Care project started by the Watford Racial Equality Council (WREC) in 1997 with grant funding ( for 3 years) secured from the National Lottery. At the time, two user Management Groups representing the interests of the Asian and African Caribbean communities in Watford, Oxhey and Three Rivers Districts supported the care project.

With the National Lottery funding ending around 2000/2001, each of the User Management Groups successfully negotiated service level agreements with Herts County Social Services and Watford Asian Community Care (WACC) evolved with their own operational strategy and Constitution, which was registered with the Charity Commission in February 1999.
