Dosti Luncheon Club @ Borehamwood

Why we come to luncheon clubs?

Of course, there are obvious several attractions makes one likes to go to such 'Luncheon Clubs 'such as:

  • an opportunity to meet and make friends with people of same/similar age-group, language, cultural and ethnic background, and those from within the vicinity of nearby surrounding area,
  • the facility of to-and-fro transport/conveyance at quite subsidized rate is again one of the main attractions and possibility to participate,
  • the facility of reasonably good community hall with standard amenities and beautiful surroundings provides a good ambivalence for meeting people,

What we like at the Luncheon Club?
There are many things we like about our Luncheon Club such as:

  • the facility of some sort of - physical trainings such as Yoga and/or Exercises makes it   more interesting and benefiting,
  • frequent occasions of Talks and Guidance/Information Seminars' from various     Government and Voluntary bodies provide a learning experience,
  • possibility of inviting local and/or overseas visiting experts for' Talks and Teachings' in    various fields/faculties that could interest/benefit this age-group members,
  • possibility of short' sight-seeing/pleasure trips' under the care and guidance of able      volunteers / employees,
  • the facility to celebrate various cultural and public events together in a small way to the ability and suitability of our this age-group,
  • the facility of enjoying together various indoor games such as - cards, chess, carom board and / or cultural dancing and singings,
  • the facility of taking paid' lunch' together,
  • the facility of complimentary tea/coffee with biscuits,

What we would like to have more from our Luncheon Club?

At the present moment we may suggest few things such as:

  • we need to have to proper good packs of cards (plastic coated playing cards), and a blanket-like table cloth to play on it,
  • the heating system needs to be checked and improved at our Borehamwood centre as it is not working satisfactorily during cold weather,
  • Drinking water unit need to be installed at our Centre,
  • One small microphone loudspeaker system to be provided suitable for our hall useful as and when some talks/speaker comes,

We indeed very much appreciate such gesture from the Governing Body concerned about our needs and grievances and then inviting our views and comments as it makes us feel part of it, and encouraging to work in harmony without any prejudice towards each other.
